Product Care

You've purchased great products to help you live more comfortably, so now you want them to last as long as possible. Our products are so well-made that they can last for three years or longer when worn or used daily, if they are looked after properly.

The fabric we chose for our products has some wonderful benefits. For our lounge/sleepwear, we use a hemp/cotton blend knit. It's soft, stretchy, and lasts a really long time. It won't pill or run.

To keep your new clothing looking its best, we recommend washing it in cold water with regular detergent and hanging to dry. Alternatively, put in the dryer, on low heat (note there is 3% vertical shrinkage on low dryer heat)

Please DON'T use:

  • Fabric softener or
  • Dryer sheets

These products will coat the fabric and block the pores in the fibres which won't be able to do their job of wicking the heat and moisture away from you.

Dryer balls: We recommend wool dryer balls for a few reasons.

  • They help speed drying time
  • They soften the fabric
  • They minimize waste and last for years

The Cool Kate pillowcase can help you sleep with less pillow flipping and greater overall comfort. You should wake up less during the night and feel more rested in the morning. Follow these simple care instructions and it will last for years.

The fabric is a unique blend of hemp and lyocell and feels like a thick linen. If you're a heavy sweater you'll notice that the pillowcase stains over a few days. Fear not, though, the stains come out easily. You can use a spray pretreatment such as a natural whitener, Oxyclean, Resolve but NOT bleach. Throw it in with the wash with your whites.

To help avoid too much wrinkling you can shake it out and hang dry, or put in the dryer on high heat. Remove when just dry and smooth with your hands or iron.

One important point: DO NOT USE BLEACH! You may be tempted to bleach it when you see the sweat stains, but the stains will come out in a regular wash without bleach. Bleach will ruin the fabric and leave it mottled.
