Get the deep, restful sleep you need with our Cool Kate pillowcase

When the temperatures start to rise in the summer months, it can be difficult to get a good night's sleep. Sleep experts recommend sleeping in a room that is between 15-18C/60-65F but getting your room temperature down to 18C can be a real challenge in the summer, especially if you don't have, or like, air conditioning.

The result is that you might find that you sweat more often than you do in the other months, waking up to damp bedding.

Many people have a particularly uncomfortable experience with damp pillows. This may be due to the use of foam pillows (which aren't breathable and lock in heat next to your head), or just in general sweat through their head.

A great way to combat this issue is by using our Cool Kate pillowcase made from a unique blend of hemp and lyocell. The fabric helps you stay cool and comfortable all night long by responding to your head's temperature and sweat levels.

Hemp and lyocell blended fabric packs a one-two punch to manage hot and sweaty sleeping!

We looked at many different fabrics when we were creating our cooling pillowcase, but this hemp/lyocell blended fabric came out on top.

Both hemp and lyocell are highly porous fibers which allows them to absorb and release moisture quickly. Additionally, the pores in the fibers allow for better airflow. Hemp fibers also have a hollow core. This feature allows for the transportation of heat away from your head at a faster rate, furthering the cooling benefits of our pillowcase

What do these features mean for you?

Simply put, it means that you’ll be able to sleep cool and comfortable with little waking up in the middle of the night with your head drenched in sweat!

Less pillow flipping, more sleeping!

Other advantages to hemp linens:

Hemp is naturally anti-bacterial so your pillowcases need to be washed less often

Hemp is a very strong fiber. Way back when products and materials were transported by sea, hemp was used to make the ropes that were used on all sailing ships. That strength and durability means that products made from hemp last a really long time!

But if it was used for ropes, is it a good fabric? Hemp can be a bit stiff, like linen, until it gets worn in. That's why it's often blended with other fibers such as cotton or lyocell. Lyocell on its own is soft and silky. But, it tends to be clingy and is not as durable as hemp. It can tear, run or pill easily. When you blend the two fabrics you get the strength, durability, heat, and moisture regulating benefits of hemp with the softness and moisture-regulating benefits of lyocell.

If you're looking for a pillowcase that will help you stay cool and comfortable during the summer months, look no further than our Cool Kate pillowcase! Made from moisture-wicking hemp and lyocell, this pillowcase will help you sleep all night long!
